I am your master. Days were boring. In fact, Drossel couldn't believe just how boring they were, so he'd resolved to make them more interesting. When he felt like it anyway. He could hear those voices over his shoulder, with their disapproving comments and begging for him to just leave the clans be. But Drossel had heard the rumors, and he wanted to...'play' with these puppets. That was why he was here, on Thunderclan's forest floor. Oh yes, he'd scented the stench of clan cats easily. There were few cats who lived in such large groups, yet. And this would be the perfect place for a trap. Judging by the scent, this area was less populated than the treetops above him. But there was foliage everywhere, which made it difficult even for Drossel to "see". But being careful, wasn't exactly in Drossel's nature. Giggling in that eerie fashion that made others feel uncomfortable, he worked. Drossel had found a hole in the forest floor, just big enough for a cat to fall in. It was shallow enough to jump out, but Drossel had lined the bottom with broken sticks, stuck into the ground so they pointed straight up. Whoever fell in now would be seriously injured, at least. Now, he was covering the top with loose foliage and sticks to keep it out of sight. Soon, some unsuspecting cat would simply fall into his trap. He laughed gleefully as the last pieces of foliage fell into place. Now he just had to wait. "Come little ones, come!" he chimed loudly, no longer bothering to hide his location. His camouflaged pelt shifted back to a solid gray. "Or if you're smart flee! You have to be brave if you want to play with me!" Hysterical laughter broke off the first stanza. It was too funny. If they came now, they were even more stupid than he thought. "If you wait too long, I just might decide, I'm tired of waiting. Then they'll be no place to hide."He chuckled in glee, tail swishing about lightly as he waited for someone to find him, chatting in such ways with laughter punctuating each stanza. And whoever found him, was lucky enough to be the victim of his masterful trap. TAGS: FENRISWORDS: 372 NOTES: Shrikepaw doesn't have to fall into the trap immediately if you don't want him to.

Shrikepaw [Hummingbird]Sleeping alone in the grass lay a young cat, her ivory pelt covered in dead leaves and fallen debris. A small smile was still on her face from earlier that day, when she found some feathers to play with and stick into her fur. She loved feathers dearly, and even though she was happy with herself, she dreamed of having feathers like the WindClanners did. They were just so pretty and soft, not to mention light and smooth on the nose. If she had feathers she'd always be cleaning them or fluffing them out and acting like a big, tough cat for fun. Her fur just didn't do her 'toughness' justice, she just looked like a big fuzzball. Not that she minded, fuzzballs were nice too and made her look fluffy and soft. Hummingbird also loved fluffing herself out when she was nestled in with her littermates to try and keep them warm, even though most of them didn't exactly want another cat in their nest. She wasn't mad about that though, they wanted their space and doing that for six moons was enough for some. So Hummingbird did what Hummingbird liked and fluffed out to keep herself warm.
As happy dreams danced in the Apprentices' head, the smell of mouse slowly made itself towards her nose. With a few sniffs she was awake, her blue eyes wide with the excitement of a hunt. A loud yawn, and she was off once again scampering around. Her sharp sight caught onto the movements within seconds and she dropped to the ground, her rump slowly swaying back and forth. The rodent didn't seem to notice and kept going, it's small nose twitching and pushed under a leaf. A big grin crossed Hummingbird's face before she lowered her stance and prepared to jump. When she was sure the mouse was distracted, the she-cat leapt forward and outstretched her front paws. Both mouse and cat flailed and skittered around before the bigger creature slapped and tiny paw onto the prey's tail. A giggle left her mouth as Hummingbird watched the mouse's legs race yet take it nowhere before she let go. The little ball of fur took off like a racehorse and Hummingbird followed suit to chase it around and play. Childish laughter echoed through the forest as the young cat ran around chasing her new friend and playing tag. The poor thing didn't think it was nearly as fun as the cat did but kept running for the sake of staying alive. Finally a small opening reached its beady eyes and it bolted towards the dark hole in a tree, leaving the Apprentice behind and to calm its pulsating heart. Hummingbird skidded to a stop and huffed, a small look of disappointment hitting her face.
"Come on silly mouse, I wasn't done playing!!" She cried out. After getting no response (as if she was foolish to think she would!!), the white cat pranced away to find a new friend to play with. Her blue eyes scanned the forest slowly in search for something else to catch her attention but stopped once she heard a voice. Ears perked, Hummingbird tried to focus on what was being said to no avail, but that didn't stop her from racing towards the source to see who it was. She had never heard that voice before, was it someone new? Maybe they wanted to be friends!! That thought alone caused the she-cat to smile and pick up her speed, who could it possibly be? A ShadowClanner? Or maybe a Loner? Oh, what about a talking bird?? How peculiar! A small giggle once again left her jaws but was quickly cut off when she felt the ground beneath her disappear. Within seconds the cat was falling in what seemed like a pit, and a sudden stabbing feeling hit her body. Hummingbird let out a pained screech, unable to completely understand the situation. Wide, teary eyes slowly lowered to see a stick coming through her front paw and many other sharp branches poking into her belly and legs. They were high enough that she couldn't touch the bottom no matter how hard she stretched and trying to wiggle out proved hurtful. A shaky breath finally left her mouth after what seemed like ever, she didn't even realize she had been holding it the entire time.
"H....He-Help...!" She managed to cry out through her pain as fear and adrenaline began to seep into her blood. "Help me!"
