Name: Lakesong
Reason for name:
- Lake- He is a very, very strong swimmer; He can cross Riverclan territory territory in record time and reach the herbs that grow at the bottom of the lake.
- Song- He's a very calming presence, and his voice is very soft and calming to his distressed patients. He rarely loses his temper.
Gender: Male
Age: 28 moons
Position: Medicine Cat
Clan: Riverclan
Breakdown of abilities and weaknesses:
- Speed: 5/5
- Stamina: 2/5
- Physical Strength: 2/5
- Mental Strength: 3/5
Pros:
Bursts of Speed: When he is determined, Lakesong can dash out of his den, dive in the water and disappear under the water in just a second or two, but has to slow down quickly due to his poor stamina.
Patient: He can take a lot of stuff most would get angry about. A slap to the face? No problem. Yelling, screaming, annoyances and disturbances of all sorts? He's got that in the bag. Kits crawling all over him? Bring it on.
Accepting: Lakesong doesn't care for appearances, or even personality to an extent. He will accept anyone into his life as long as they don't try to kill him or harm his patients and those he loves.
Cons:
Apathetic: While he may seem like he cares as he works, he really just doesn't. His voice, as attractive as it is, id pretty monotone, except for those rare occasions when he gets panicked or angry. He doesn't have much of an opinion on any subject.
Unbalanced: While he may be an excellent swimmer, he is horrible on land; due to his unbalanced weight, he waddles a bit and occasionally tumbles over if he slips on algae or moves the wrong way.
Too forgiving/trusting: Due to this, he is very easy to trick and manipulate. It would hurt many others, but Lakesong just doesn't care and will continue repeating his mistakes
Appearance:
Lakesong is a very thin and small tom, but his is a very strong swimmer. All his muscles are housed primarily in his long, thick tail, which propels him along as he swims. He has long, pinkish fins that run the course of his back and help him change direcions quickly and easily. Smaller ones are located on the back of his legs that help him move easier.
His eyes are a bright green color, but a thin film can cover them when he's underwater so he doesn't get water in his eyes. He is dark gray on the top with a off-white underbelly that helps him stay stealthy in the water when his fins aren't opened and in use. His paws are webbed and if he stretches his toes out, you could see that there's a slight pink coloration that watches his fins.
He always seems to have a pretty neutral look on his face, no matter what, and some tease him that it has stuck in place. He's got a very relaxed posture until he has to do his job, and all over his body, he's got very slight scars from having kits crawling all over him and not being careful.
His most charming aspect is his voice; it's pretty unemotional, but somehow, its lovely to listen to. Even his snappy remarks are somewhat whimsical and soothing to listen to. He's very wordy, so some get lulled by his near constant chatter.
Severity and Breakdown of Adaptations: Level 2
Second degree adaptations:
- Gills
- Large back and tail fins modeled after a SWORDFISH
- Webbed paws
- transparent second eyelid so he can see unerwater (much like crocodiles)
- Long, powerful tail
Personality:
Calming - Perhaps his lack of care, but he's a very calming presence to be around. He really has a hard time getting riled up about much, and therefore, he doesn't react to what others say. So he doesn't encourage them to continue their behavior, and in the end, everyone becomes calm.
Gentle - While he may threaten sometimes to prod a broken leg, he's very gentle with how he treats both his patients and those who are dear to him. He wouldn't drop a kit if his life depended on it, and he wouldn't fight for any reason other then to protect those unable to protect themselves.
Apatehtic - There are very few things in the world Lakesong cares for outside of his duty and the kits who play with him. Actually, there is nothing that he cares about besides those two, and it shows with his posture, voice, and even down to how he moves about. He's often found lazing on one of the large lily pads outsideof the dome on his back, sunning himself without a care if there is no one he needs to care for. Sometimes if there is someone who needs care, he'll just waddle along so he doesn't loose his cool.
Patient - He needs to deal with a lot of fussy kittens, fussy patients, angry and grieving family members of the deceased, sick cats that beg and moan for medicine that he can't give, pregnant females, and a heck of a lot more then any cat should have to go through every day, so he has build up a lot of patience. If he gets smacked by an angry cat, he doesn't strike back (occasionally he may poke fun at them because they are being over dramatic) and just lets them get angry or upset with him.
Brotherly figure - Kits tend to flock to him dispite him lacking many common kit-friendly qualities. He's not all that playful, but he does let them get away with a lot of stuff even their mothers wont let them get away with.
Forgiving - As long as someone is willing to repent, he is willing to forgive and give another chance to them. Many consider it foolish, but he considers it foolish to harbor such hate when there is no need to.
Verbose - Lakesong is very talkitive, and if he can go of on a rant, he will. His vocabulary is very complex and sometimes, the point of the conversation will be lost because he won't shut up.
Specific moral Values:
- Do no harm. (This is a standard medical moral)
- Even if he doesn't like who he is supposed to work on, he will always treat his patients as if they are someone special to him.
Relationships:
Eelfang (older brother): He knew his intentions when he left the clan, but feels no hatred towards him. He kind of hopes to see him again.
History:
Soon after he was first born, Lakekit fell into the riveclan water with his brother when they were having a play fight. While his brother struggled to right himself, Lakekit paddled on out and waited for him on the side. He became a candidate to be the Riveclan swimming ace of his generation. His brother, while just shy of being a warrior, was jealous that a kit that had bearely opened his eyes could swim better then him.
Sadly, Lakesong never became the swimming ace of his warrior generation, and it was all thanks to getting into the Medicne cat's supply and eating an excess of all the good smelling herbs in there. They had an immediate effect on his body, and when he ate the wrong ones, he got pretty sick for a few days. Instead of being an notmal cat and never wanting to go back to the horrible place, he kept going back, though, he wouldn't eat the herbs again, and soon, he became friends with the Medicine Cat there, and immediately knew that he wanted to be like her one day.
He asked her to be her apprentice, and she accepted him, though it took a few days of bribing from the young kit to get her to agree.
She often brought him out with her, since he didn't need much help learning to swim and breathe underwater. But, soon after she taught him which herbs to get in each area of the lake, she would disappear fron sight when he was occupied. It took him a while to nitice, but he began to see her disappear into the bushes and run. He couldn't keep up with her on land though, so he firgured she was just looking for land herbs so they could stock up quicker. He never followed her after che came back each time with herbs he didn't know existed.
He started feeling love towards the medicine cat, but one day, when she didn't return for a few days, he began to get worried and he went to look for her. He found her alright, bloodied and dead, her face no longer pretty when it was trapped under the trunk of a tree. He started to cry over her, his heart breaking, when he heart soft squeals and mewls off towards one of the ponds jutting out of the main pool of water. He went to invgestigate and saw something splashing and squealing, its gold eyes barely opened. Its ear had been bitten off by oene of the mean fish in the the pond, and it had a few more bites all over it, but it was otherwise alright. Lakepaw picked it up, and immediately saw the family resemblance between the fallen medicine cat and the baby and knew what she had been doing when she went off.
His personality took a quick turn and everything cheery about him was now apatheticand uncaring, except when it came to the kit he had informally adopted as his sibling. He took it back to the clan, and was asked what its name was. He noticed a striking feature when it yanked: its oversized canines. He named it after his brother, who had also had large canines (he couldn'nt possibly be the father, right?), and he was christened Eelkit. The next day, Lakesong was given his own name, and Eelkit was placed in the nursery with the others kittens.
A few months passed and Eelkit was now Eelpaw, and was showing similar promise of becoming a great swimmer like his big brother. Lakesong couldn't watchin him win the race between him and his friends though; he was halping a queen give birth to her three kits named Sharkkit, Rosekit, and Frogkit. The mother, however, didn't make it due to contracting a disease Lakesong had no control over. The kits were showed to the father, who yelled at Lakesong for not saving the mother. Lakesong had much practice with his apathetic personality though,, and was just able to stand there and stare rather blankly, dispite feeling a bit of regret.
The kits were returned to the nursery, and Eelpaw often stared at them, wondering if they were his brothers too, since he hadn't had much experience with his own family. lakesong just told him whatever made him happy, and soon, Eelpaw was trying to play with the much smaller kits he adopted. He even brought the three in to hang out with Lakesong, and whnethey began to get too bothersome, he shoved honey in their mouths and told them to go away. They did, now intrigued by the new, sweet taste.
After that, Lakesong became the kits new favorite play thing, seeing as he let them do as they pleased with him as he worked and rested. more and mroe kits came to him, and soon, his infirmary had become a play place for them all, not that he really ccared, as long as they didn't knock anything over, or eat his supply.
Timeline:
Kithood-
- Fell in water, and learned he was a natural swimmer from birth
- Accidentally ate too much of an herb and got sick for three days. He became interested in herbs then.
- His older brother from the litter before him, named Eelfang, left the clan after speaking to his brother and telling him how left out he felt because he wasn't very adapted to the Riverclan environment, since he had only one adaptation, which was his webbed feet. He apparently had found a female to love in another clan, and promptly left.
Apprenticeship
- Took up his apprenticeship with the Riverclan medicine cat before him, who was female
- He often followed her out of the clan, per her request, but noticed that she was slinking off when he was busy with herbs. He never pursued her out of respect
- She died, and his emotions became shrouded and he developed the personality he has.
- He found her kit moments later in a pool of water and having large fish try to bite him. One of its ears were bitten off, and it had a few scratches and bruises, but was otherwise alright. He took in the kit nd became the next Medicine cat.
Medicine Cat-Ship
- He always kept a close eye on the kit, named Eelkit for his overly large teeth and strange speckled pattern similar to this eel.
- He lost a queen after the birth of her kits, named Sharkkit (due to a small dorsal fin on his back) Coralkit (due to her pinkish fins that were beginning to show) and Frogkit (due to his slight hopping he started only moments after birth, It turned out he had the hiccups and it made him bounce, and he also had long toes and a lot of webbing between them).
- The All the kits, including Eelkit became very close to him, he he took on a 'big brother' role in the clan. Kits often flock to him and ask for Honey, which, he occasionally gives.

If he were to speak in human, he would most likely sound like Yurick from The Last Story
