Several pink hued petals rained down from a thick, heather bush as a young, clumsy calico apprentice scrambled to get free of the shrub covered terrain, her fur-like, feathers ruffled and covered with loose twigs and petals. "How am I expected to catch anything if I can't keep track of where it's going?!" Larkpaw complained loudly as she dug her claws into the soil, her large ears pressing back against her skull with annoyance as a small rabbit darted out from a heather bush nearby and raced out of her line of vision. "I give up!" the savannah splattered apprentice exclaimed after a few solid seconds of disbelief passed by. Magenta colored flowers rained down upon the WindClan apprentice as she threw herself onto the ground for a rest, her slightly shortened tail slapping onto the surface next to her, causing a small, puff of dirt to rise up before it settled down upon her downy feathers.
Thinking for a few moments, Larkpaw recalled how she had slipped out of camp, well... not really slipped, more like tumbled and tripped. Shaking her head, the apprentice tried to get her thoughts back on track. She had snuck out of camp to try and get a head-start on training, even if it had required getting in trouble once she returned. Grumbling to herself, the apprentice hadn't realized how tough hunting was, she thought it would've been a piece of cake, more or less, even with her defective sense of smell. Rolling over onto her patterned back, the young she-cat blinked her tangerine colored eyes as she watched the dancing shrub branches, the warm breezes allowing her to calm down to some extent. "I guess I could try again," Larkpaw thought silently as she lay on her back for a few seconds before rolling onto her side and sitting up, her back and side covered with powdered dirt and scattered petals.
