[OOC NOTE: Ravenpaw is one of my characters, and the other cat in here is made up so as to complete this assignment.]
Grayleaf panted. She shivered, causing her to send out little sparks from her claws. Since when had a storm been this violent? She couldn't remember one. The ThunderClan medicine cat was sheltered safely in a small stone hollow with a frightened Ravenpaw. Knowing that Ravenpaw was close to hysterics, Grayleaf wrapped her long, fluffy tail around the apprentice's shoulders. "It's alright, the storm will end soon," she soothed. The predominantly black apprentice seemed to calm down a bit, but jumped when another louder, deeper, scarier voice was heard. "Don't be so sure of it," the voice boomed. Looking closely, Grayleaf made out a large red tabby tom to whom the voice belonged to. The small apprentice at the medicine cat's side was trembling, but shakily meowed, "H-how are y-you so s-sure the storm w-won't end soon?" The apprentice's bright river blue eyes shone with fear.
The other cat laughed, loudly and frighteningly. Grayleaf knew it was frightening because Ravenpaw buried into her fur. "Please quiet down. You're frightening Ravenpaw. I'm Grayleaf. ThunderClan's medicine cat. Now, would you be kind enough to tell us your name?" The red tabby spoke, a quieter and less intimidating tone used. "I'm Red. Sorry for scaring, uh.... Ravenpaw, her name was?" Grayleaf nodded, and Red curled his tail around his paws. The medicine cat noticed that he kept one paw off the ground, and that his tail was a bit short. "Are you hurt?" It didn't matter that Red wasn't a Clan cat. As a medicine cat, the gray she-cat was outside of the warrior code, instead having her own code. her code stated that every cat was just that - a cat, with the same right to live as any other.
Red nodded, looking embarrassed, as he extended his paw. There was a thorn driven deep into his paw pad, and Grayleaf leaned forward, promising that it'd only hurt for a few seconds. Grabbing the thorn, she yanked it out. Red jumped, startled, and then licked his pad furiously. Outside, the storm quieted down and then stopped completely. "See, what did I say? The storm stopped." Ravenpaw peeked shyly out of Grayleaf's fur. "B-Bye, Red," she mewed softly. Red smiled and then disappeared, not giving a goodbye of his own. "Come on, Ravenpaw. Bring that mallow with you, and I'll bring the yarrow." Ravenpaw nodded and followed the medicine cat out of the hollow and back to the camp.
