I said there should be robo-cats that are like prototypes and usually blow up if thats what you mean. Theyre high powered but dont live long and kinda malfunction and explode at the most inconvenient of times. I dunno, I thought it was cute and funny.
As for the backstory please let us all agree to make it the least cliche as possiblr? Like no nuclear explosions or World War III or alien attacks or whatevs. We want originality here.

How about this? Twolegs advanced in technology, and captured a few cats of every clan. They genetically altered them and sent them back out to the wild. Now, moons later, all Clan cats have variations. ThunderClan became bigger and harnessed the power of thunder. RiverClan became more fish-like. ShadowClan became predators of the night and are rarely seen during the day. WindClan became much faster. SkyClan developed wings and the power to survive high pressures. BloodClan started to feast upon other cats. Just a basis. If any of these are wrong, I'm sorry that I couldn't remember. >.>

Way way way too cliche my dear. Genetic mutations are so common that I did it, twice. Plus that doesnt have anything to do with the post-apocalyptic world were going for with all the species. Plus the mutations we gave the cats are meant to be natural and as if they evolved to adapt rather than human tampering.

We HAVE decided all the traits, and they're been natural traits, so we need to keep that in mind.
Evolution is that the animal that can survive in the territory best reproduce more, making the trait more common. Usually, if something is different though, the population usually rejects it. So, maybe a cat from every clan was born with a very slight version of these adaptations, and were thrown out from the clan. So they lived on their own for a while, perhaps learning from the other cats who were thrown out and making the beginning of a clan that lasts until they're strong enough to take care of themselves. (this is a little cliche, but the most realistic thing I could think of)
Maybe, there could be a natural disaster in these areas, each appealing to these traits (Riverclan got a massive flood, so only the best swimmers survive (gills make it harder to drown, fins make it easier to maneuver), more aggressive animals started invading the Thunderclan territory, so they need a new form of protection (electric eel shocks, slippery skin, so on). Sky clan gets a massive drop in temperature and gets an earthquake (most freeze to death or slip down the holes made by the earthquake, the ones with the thickest fur and more flexible bodies live). Shadowclan's forest burns down and never regrows/there is more sunlight in that area. (Those who could hide underground lived longer then those that could not, and therefore could breed), Windclan has to be able to jump longer distances due to a canyon like gorge (those that could 'fly' or get a very good running start lived; correct me if I'm wrong here.), Bloodclan's food supply ran out (those who didn't eat the weak starved and couldn't pass on their genes).
and it sort of just went on from there. More dramatic traits started to emerge after xxx years, and they all learned how to survive.
It just seems the most natural and logical way that this could ever happen.
Does this make sense? Or does it just sound bad?

Sounds so much better than mine~ It's really good, and makes sense. I believe you got WindClan right, but I'm not sure 'cause I have the worst memory ever.

I think it's great. The humans, instead of directly adapting, would adapt their technology, I assume, and they've just begun experimentation on animals?
All the ref sheet sketches will be posted as soon as I can get on the computer they're on.

If we go with my idea itd be more along the lines of trying to build new companions but cant quite make them work without exploding. Plus guys I really dont wanna do experimentation. I know I did it but the more I think about it the more I remember those animal experimentation videos I watched once and Im not comfortable with that X< Im sorry but I just dont like remembering 'scientists' ripping the claws and teeth out of cats to make them stop attacking when being sprayed with bleach from a hose.

Well, theres always varying types of scientists that are more extreme then others, so maybe that's how this could be? We can have the ones trying to make new companions, and ones that are cruel and hurt the animals? I mean, no one likes the fact that they're hurting the poor animals, but they do it anyway. It can be like an underground thing? And if you don't want to participate in the threads or part of the boards that have that, you don't need to. It just won't have to be a major part of the back story. Sort of like 'It happened, but it's been frowned upon, and not many people do it anymore.'
We don't have to do the experimentation thing, but there's always a compromise that's possible if a majority wants to include it.

Something I would like to point out. If we're going for a more darker type of plot and such, a darker skin would fit the site more.
