New to the site and don't know where to start? Well, you've stumbled upon the right thread, that's for sure! This post offers small stepping-stones that might help the new members push off on their FourClans journey. c: A few suggestions on how to get from making an account and understanding our concepts, to creating a character, plotting with other members, and making roleplay posts! Of course, they're only suggestions!
GETTING STARTED & UNDERSTANDING THE SITE Once you've created your account here at FourClans, you'll need to familiarize yourself with the site rules. Also, don't be afraid to say 'hi' in the c-box or post a "Hey, I'm here now, so love me!" post in the Introduction board. That way, we can welcome ya' warmly!
In addition, seeing as FourClans puts a twist on the traditional Warriors RPG, you'll need to take a good read through all of our linked informational threads. In order for a member to fully grasp the (super neat) concept our little site offers, they have to understand that our setting takes place thousands of years after the books and with evolved territories as well as adaptions/mutations.
— Site Rules: We'll know if you don't read them. *grins* — Introduction Board: Create your own thread here! — The Beginning of the New Clans: Some background information. — Clan Adaptions: Explains the mutations/adaptions for each territory.
CHARACTER CREATION & DEVELOPMENT After you're familiar with the site and its concept, the next step is to create a character! In order to do that, you'll need to use the Application Format linked below, copy the code, and create your own thread in the Character Creation board. When you've filled out all the information for your cat and posted it, then a bio moderator will give it a look. If all the requirements are met and everything checks out it will be accepted and you're free to roleplay!
— Character Creation Template: The form used for applications. — Bans & Encouragements: To always be checked before making a character. — Allegiances: A list of all the members of each clan, including NPCs. — Naming Assistance: Some helpful sites in case you need a little guidance in dubbing your cat.
THREADING & PLOTTING Now that you have your character rearing to go, it's time to roleplay! To create a thread, navigate to the board you want to post in and then click the '+ New Thread' icon located in the title bar of that board. If you're not really sure how to get involved, Oakey has some suggestions. You can always create a new thread. If you create a situation that is interesting and attractive, other members will more quickly join with their characters! And always, keep an eye out for open threads... replying to an open thread is always a certified way to get involved with other characters. And lastly, take a look at other applications/biographies — maybe you'll find some cat that fits your character and any ideas you have for them. Send the member that roleplays that cat a PM with ideas! Many members here on FourClans love plotting, so go for it! No one should bite your head off, so long as you're courteous!
— Classified Ads: Always an option, you can post in this board, describing who your character is and what they are looking for (companions, family members, love interests, etc). Read through the ads of other members, too! You might find the perfect plot idea for your character.
STILL HAVE QUESTIONS? If there is still something that isn't quite clear to you or you need help with anything (creating your character, understanding something, or using Proboards itself) feel free to ask for help in the c-box, post in the questions board, or PM a staff member! Members of FourClans will be there to offer a paw and/or a word of advice!
— Ideas & Inquires Board: Post any question here. — PM Oakey: Click to send a message. — PM Blizzy: Click to send a message. — PM Cobalt: Click to send a message. — PM SML: Click to send a message.
