`/-|-|-/` I've never been fond of other cats my age, but I could mind them well when only a few Moons old. This was especially true when I felt like playing games, though my perspective really shined during an unexpected encounter. ~~~
It was a certain, crisp evening, where once again I would attempt to grasp the concept of routine. On this particular day, the clean, chilling breeze skirted through our Den, practically pulling me along out of a midday snooze. I yawned and shivered as the breeze quickly receded, and listened as I opened my eyes. It was unusually quiet. And unusually dark. Maybe there's going to be a storm, I inquired, before hearing shuffling behind me.
Apparently another Kit agreed to the thought of being awake, as they immediately grabbed a mossball and began batting it around. Intrigued, I waddled over (D'awww) and quietly watched before another wave of wind caught my fur and sent me tumbling. It whisked away the mossball when darting out of the Den, and we both happily squealed. This silent game suddenly ceased as my new friend let out a crackle of electricity from their tail, stared behind me, and slowly backed up to their Queen. I curiously turned, unsure of why my friend had been scared; it's not like anything horrible could get here, right?
Loudly yelping, I fell back, sending arcs of electricity from my claws. A shadow seemed to stand over me, and I crawled backwards as quickly as I could to get away from this figure. Blinking rapidly, I stood, realizing that it wasn't a shadow at all! A cat had been standing over me, though I couldn't tell who, as the sun had disappeared further and a low rumble erupted from the sky. I nervously laughed, shook myself, and drank in the presence of whomever decided to stop at the Nursery, most likely a Warrior. "H-hello!" I yipped quietly, unable to do much more in the face of their might.
(OOC: Done being afraid of posting! I hope NPC's are okay...)

Flowerfur had been busy since she had been appointed deputy, and thus had been stolen her chances to play with the apprentices and kits of ThunderClan. It was one of her favorite things to do, so as soon as she got back from patrol and found she had free time, she decided to stop by.
The sun was going down, facing the nursery. The she-cat took a moment to observe and appreciate the colors of the sunset before making her way over to the nursery. She was about to say something when she realized that she was interrupting a game of mossball, so she was content to simply sit and watch for a little while.
A gust of wind ruffled the kits' fur and sent one of them tumbling, but their mossball flew towards me. One of the bigger kits made a move for it, squealing happily, but took one look at Flowerfur and backed away. Another kit who had followed the mossball more slowly looked back at his friend and then at me, letting out a loud mewl of surprise as shocks coursed through his claws.
Flowerfur felt somewhat indignant for a moment before realizing that, with the sun right behind her, she must've been casting a large shadow, perhaps looking bigger and more scary than she actually was. I wonder if Elmstar's ever used the position of the sun to his advantage. It seems like something he'd do.
Flowerfur suddenly perked her ears forward as the spotted golden kit let out a panicked "hello", looking scared out of his wits. Feeling somewhat guilty for scaring them, the deputy stepped out of the way of the sun, letting her face shine rather than hide in the darkness. She hadn't seen these particular kits before -- she had simply been too busy as of late to see who's been born and what name they've been given, but she was going to remedy that.
The deputy laughed slightly and laid down on her stomach so that she was only a little taller than the kit."Hey, it's okay," Flowerfur whispered. "I'm just here to say hello.
"My name is Flowerfur, and I'm the d.. deputy." Flowerfur still wasn't used to her position, much less saying it aloud, but she wasn't going to avoid the word. "What's your name?" |
