Here on Fourclans, we have our own unique concept.
The clan territories have changed in the past thousand years, and now, to match their extreme environemt, the clans have adapted in extreme ways.
There are different Degrees of adaptations:
THUNDERCLAN
RIVERCLAN
WINDCLAN
SHADOWCLAN
SKYCLAN
BLOODCLAN

There are different Degrees of adaptations:
- Type 1: Generally very mild adaptations. Mostly internal and undramatic. Often just very slight physical changes. These are the bare minimum number of adaptations (generally 1-3 adaptations). They're considered more rare since they wouldn't survive quite as long in the harsh environments
- Type 2: Their physical adaptations are more dramatic and visible then the type one. These have more than the first class adaptations, but not quite as many as third class(Generally 4-6 adaptations). These would probably be the most common since they are well adapted, but not over adapted
- Type 3: Most rare adaptation level. These have the maximum number of adaptations (7 or more) and are considered very rare, since they have a hard time living outside of the territory they have adapted so highly to. These are generally easily identifiable because their traits are very visible.
THUNDERCLAN
- Developed to fit in their rainforest type territory. Most of the animals are much larger then the cats, and to protect themselves, they have become able to shocks that were generated from within their bodies.
- Modeled after electric eels, lemurs, and monkeys.
- Common type one traits: weak electric shocks through paws or bites, secretion on skin to protect from shocks, and strong flexible tails.
- Common type two traits: strong, curved claws for climbing, shocks are slightly stronger and can pass through claws, and extra toes that are able to flex to grip branches.
- Common Type three traits:shocks are strong enough to pass a few inches beyond claws, fur often stands on end and may produce small static shocks, and extremely strong tails, can hang from branches with them for short periods.
RIVERCLAN
- Riverclan's territory is approximately 90% water. The other 10% of land consists of sandy beaches, and the hollowed out stone dome where the cats sleep. They also can sleep on the water like otters, on the large lily pads and other water plants, or on the beaches. Those with gills can dive underwater to visit the coral gardens and underwater caverns.
- Modeled after various types of aquatic and amphibious creatures.
- Common type one traits: sleek, waterproof fur, expanded lung capacity, and webbed paws.
- Common type two traits: second pair of transparent eyelids, sparse scales under fur, and a broad, flat tail.
- Common type three traits: more sparse scales under fur throughout, rudimentary fins and gills, and short, stiffer whiskers.
WINDCLAN
- Windclan is pretty similar to how they were in the books, but they now have the addition of large hills and deep dips in their territory that they have no choice but to glide over like a flying squirrel or find their way down these severe dips without hurting themselves.
- Modeled after various types of birds and flying squirrels.
- Common type one traits: almost always short-furred, slim, and long-legged, short, strong claws act as grips, and tails slightly shorter but thicker and sleeker
- Common type two traits: Pelt of fur-like down feathers, light, hollow bones, heightened sight.
- Common type three traits: Some "flight" feathers on back, tail, and back of legs, flaps of skin from upper legs to torso, and rooster-like spurs.
SHADOWCLAN
- Shadowclan has moved into a network of underground tunnels since their territory above ground has become barren and unable to support them and their prey.
- Modeled after moles and trapdoor spiders.
- Common type one traits: usually light-pelted, strong claws for digging, and eyes extremely sensitive to light
- Common type two traits: slightly smaller eyes, "scoopy" flat claws, and shorter tails
- Common type three traits: Very large curved, flat claws that cannot be sheathed, rodent-like eyes that may be red, and extremely hightened sense of hearing and smell.
SKYCLAN
- Skyclan lives in a mountainous area that is almost always covered in snow above the tree line. They live in the heart of the mountain where they are able to keep warm.
- Modeled after snow rabbits, oxen, polar bears, and other artic creatures.
- Common type one traits: large paws, polydactylity very common, thick fur that may thin a bit in summer, light colors common (esp. white), and strong, hard pads.
- Common type two traits: Shorter muzzle, extra coat of fur keeps out moisture better, and dewclaws.
- Common type three traits: small, musk ox-like horns and thicker skulls, smaller, rounded ears, and are omnivorous
BLOODCLAN
- Bloodclan has by far the least amount of food. Nothing besides rats and other inedible creatures live in their graveyard like territory. Therefore, they have learned to live on a diet of rotten food and blood/.
- Modeled after ants, venomous snakes and spiders, bats, and lancet liver flukes.
- Common type one traits: Short, fine pelt, stomachs can handle rotten food and pure blood, elongated canines, kits will cling to mother's belly.
- Common type two traits: Hollow fangs with venom stronger then level one.
- Common type three traits: Strongest venom of all three adaptations, rely highly on a blood diet
