but i'll lead you all to forever. <><><><><>
The WindClan leader ascended to the top of the narrow hill, inhaling deeply as the breeze tickled her feathers. It probably wasn't wise to be out here alone again, but she needed a release. Not much had happened lately - it was all just daily patrols and checking in on the elders. Peace was good, but, well, it was boring, and the she-cat was in need of a good rabbit-chase.
Miststar leaned into the wind, ears upright and eyes closed. There it was, the scent of rabbit, not too far away. Probably one with gliding capabilities, all the way out here. A small smile appeared on her silver muzzle. This was going to be fun. She opened her eyes, crouched, and sprang soundlessly to the next hill. Every good WindClanner knew you had to get close before initiating the chase.
The scent grew stronger as Miststar continued, and her mind switched over to autopilot. Instead she found herself contemplating how chilly the air was, the moisture on the grass that had been frost the night before. How far away the last Gathering seemed, even though it was less than a moon ago. How young Yellowpaw should really be tested; he was nearing the end of his training. It was almost a shock when the rabbit came into her sight. It was so calm, sitting at the top of a hill and nibbling on a blade of grass. Miststar leaned back, tail curling in excitement.
She pushed off hard, more horizontally than vertically, and let her legs stretch out so that the wind caught her. The rabbit noticed her as she was in mid-glide, and it sprang off. Miststar hardly thought, letting her instincts guide her as she bounded and glided at breakneck speed. She could practically feel its fur in her mouth, and she was almost there, and she unsheathed her claws and swept it out of the air.
Miststar dug her claws into the ground as she landed, ending the rabbit's life with a sharp bite to the neck. It was only when she dropped it that cat-scent hit her nose. Probably of her own Clan, but it was hard to tell with fresh-kill right in front of her. "Who's there?"

ScarlettForest green eyes scanned the open moors, narrowed as the sun hit the snow and became almost blinding. Food was getting a lot more scarce with the snow piling up and the submerging temperatures so the open area seemed to be the best place to snag something with ease. A particularly strong gust of wind blew through the she-cats crimson pelt, not quite reaching her skin thanks to her second layer of fur. Scarlett nonetheless shivered and shook some snow off her pelt, wishing she just would have stayed home today. But of course her stubbornness brought her here, along with her inability to back down from a bet. She's show all those good for nothing toms that she could catch herself a meal and have a full belly by sundown, then who'd be laughing? She could outhunt every tom there with her eyes closed. Creek didn't know what he was talking about!!
Eventually, the faint scent of rabbit wafted towards her nose and her sharp hearing took over. The she-cat slowly turned her head towards the source, pinpointing her next meal with expert accuracy and well-trained senses. Lowering her body into the snow, Scarlett began the deep trek towards the rabbit but sticking out like a sore thumb thanks to her fur. A few times her paws sunk in too far, which made her awkwardly jerk at it and hiss like a rattlesnake until she became free and flew in the opposite direction. No wonder she hated snow, her instincts may be well-toned but her body just couldn't handle the drifts of frozen trouble. No matter how far she got she always had to take two steps back to get herself unstuck, not to mention the clumps of snow sticking to her legs and chest. "I'm going to claw your ears off when I get back there Creek, just you wait." She snarled to herself.
When it all seemed hopeless, the crunch of paws on snow caught her attention. The rabbit looked so good at that moment, she couldn't wait to sink her jaws into it and feel it's warmness in her mouth. A smirk crossed her face for two seconds before it got wiped off with a blur of silver. Another cat came down out of the sky and just like that, stole Scarlett's meal. The red she-cat let out an angry growl and stomped over, the clumps of snow shaking as she bounded over in frustration. "You dumb fuzzball! That was my rabbit, mine! Uggghhh, after all that walking I did in the snow, my means of winning that bet gone thanks to an old ball of feather. What a waste of time, thanks Elder Swoop-n-Steal." She growled, already beginning to leave in search of another meal. Ooc: Ignore the fact Scarlett isn't done omg

Miststar lifted her head, jade-green eyes fixed on the bright she-cat. "Elder Swoop-n-Steal? That's a new one." She smiled warmly. "I'm afraid this is WindClan territory anyway, and it isn't likely that a rogue like you would be able to catch a glider. Especially in the closehills." She flicked the rabbit's feathers with a claw, ears quirking downward almost apologetically as she examined the she-cat. Wow, was she...red. It was impossible to look at anything else. Then she turned to leave, and the silver cat raised her eyebrows. She couldn't very well just leave the rogue to wander her territory. "Who ever made you such a bet anyway?"

Scarlett gave the silver cat a raised eyebrow at the comment about the name. She didn't expect anyone else to call her that, because she probably had a name to be called. Clan cats were so weird, it's a wonder they lasted this long. Still, she decided to humour the cat a bit and turned back to face her. "Well, with your qualities I'm surprised quite frankly. Oh wait, you have 'Warrior' names. I guess it'd be Swoopsteal? Or Preysnatcher? What about flyingthief? I don't understand your silly customs~" She purred, a sweet smile on her face. "And you underestimate my abilities, Silver, for I am quite the accomplished huntress." The she-cat continued, hints of annoyance in her voice. How dare she say she couldn't catch that? The Rogue could catch anything if she tried hard enough, the nerve of some people! But what did she honestly expect from a prey-stealing Clan cat?
Dark green eyes stared at the stranger in anticipation. She mentioned Scarlett was on 'their' territory but she didn't make a move to chase her out. Was she planning to attack when her guard was down? Pah, the younger she-cat knew better than to become comfortable around others. But if she supposedly couldn't hunt here, where did she think she'd go? Those stupid borders made up by the Clans made hunting dangerous for those who didn't follow their questionable ways. Living with other cats together? Ridiculous! It's a sure-fire way to get backstabbed for sure! Scarlett learned the first time not to let others in but these cats did it willingly and that was just too much for her to understand. The she-cat yawned and flicked her tail back and forth, grazing the snow and leaving a mark on top of the snow. "Territory schmerritory, if I'm hungry I'm hunting where I please. If us Rogues and Loners obeyed your silly laws we'd starve to death, simple as that."
A smirk crossed the red cat's face at the mention of the bet. It was really none of her business and it was dumb to begin with anyways. But Scarlett would tell her if she gave her something back in return. Gently, the Rogue sat down in the snow and licked at one of her paws to rid it of the snow. Then she lifted her green gaze and purred softly. "And who wants to know about my private life? I'm offended you haven't given me your name yet, I thought you cats were supposed to be more civilized than me? Name first and I'll give you the juicy details." She replied.
Ooc: Wheezes, that was awful omg I'm sorry for that. But is this our first thread together??
